Got Goat Milk? You Should!

There are so many reasons why you should incorporate raw goat milk into your dog's diet. I often describe it to my clients and customers as "nature's Pedialyte for dogs and cats" because it really is.

Raw milk is one of two whole and complete foods, the other being eggs. (Both give life and supply young mammals with all of their nutritional needs - calories, protein, vitamins, minerals, etc). The best milk is raw, because unlike its altered cousin, pasteurized milk, contains the beneficial bacteria that supports the microbiome (or the lining of the gut) which is where between 70-90% of the dog's immune system lives.

While I always encourage you to support your local farmers, Grade A certified raw milk is not always available across the country. My two favorite brands are Green JuJu and Answers.

A big thanks to Green JuJu for this helpful graphic sharing even more reasons why it's such a great addition to your dog's diet.

The nutritional benefits of Raw Goat’s Milk are so hard to beat for your dogs or cats. Probiotics: Pure, unfermented raw goat's milk contains more than 200 species of probiotics, which are essential for gut health. Probiotics can help to boost the immune system, improve digestion and reduce the risk of allergies. Digestive enzymes: Raw goat's milk also contains more than 60 types of digestive enzymes, which help to break down food and nutrients to improve digestion and absorption. Healthy fats: 50% of the saturated fats in raw goat’s milk are the same as the healthy fats you find in coconut oil. These fats can also help to boost the immune system, as well as reduce inflammation and promote skin health. These are just some of the many reasons we believe that milk is nature’s perfect food and an awesome addition to any pet’s diet!
